A CELEBRATION OF ARTISTIC COLLABORATION

created and curated by
Mary Lewey + Helen Popinchalk

Each Dear So-and-So experiment begins with a group of artists working in a variety of mediums.

Invited artists choose their own partner and create together, call-and-response style. For example, one person begins a collection of new work and then then turns it over to their partner to build upon it.

Dear So-and-So is an exercise in trust that takes place over the course of one year. The exchange of artworks in progress occurs at least three times. Artists are encouraged to document their process, providing a record of where the work started and how it evolved over time. The project culminates in an exhibition of the finished work, a limited edition publication, and several public programs.
